Kari Rust lives and works as an animator in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She attended Kwantlen College and then Emily Carr College of Art and Design, receiving a BFA through the Open University.

She is currently doing 3d computer animation at the superb new company Nitrogen Studios but has a background in the archaic craft of hand-drawn traditional animation. This craft involved paper and pencil and every drawing was created by hand. The last of such projects for Kari was the new Ren and Stimpy show and that work came to an end in the summer of 2003. So Kari cast aside her pencils and took hold of a mouse.

In addition to working as an animator, occasional illustrator/designer, timer and storyboard artist, Kari has taught art and animation at DigiPen in both its Vancouver, BC and Redmond, WA locations.

Artwork on this site from some other past projects include animation and character design for the action sports TV show, Hardcore Candy, and illustrations for Sony PlayStation and Official PlayStation Magazine featuring Hardcore Candy host and “Gamer Girl”, Zoe Flower.
